Another Affiliate Summit East is in the books. And, as always, the conference and New York City didn’t disappoint. Even though two weeks ago Clarion Events acquired Affiliate Summit, the conference still had the same vibe of past shows.
There were so many truly inspiring and educational sessions. Former football great Joe Theisman kicked off the conference with his uplifting keynote and mimosas. Adam Dahlen, Director of Client Development at iAffiliate Management, had a session called 5 Ways to Get Your Affiliate Program Ready for Q4. It focused on a wide range of practical Q4 prep tips for merchants. He covered a lot of ground including planning, promotions and contests; securing placements; and finalizing new affiliate integrations.
But beyond the formal sessions, there was also the opportunity to connect on the trade show floor during the Meet Market and exhibit hall. The Meet Market was packed with publishers, merchants, and networks as usual. Feedback we heard about the Meet Market continues to be positive as meetings tend to be more efficient with a “speed dating” atmosphere.
Networking Opportunities
Rick Gardner, iAffiliate Management’s Founder and CEO, did a stint manning the Meet Market booth for the Performance Marketing Association (PMA). A long-time PMA member, Rick had the chance (along with Awin’s Jeannine Crooks and LinkConnector’s Choots Humphries) to educate others about the good work the PMA is doing on behalf of the industry. There was also a PMA brunch Sunday morning that provided an opportunity to mix and mingle with top industry leaders. If you’re not already a PMA member, join now.
Additionally, there were plenty of other chances to network, connect, and have some fun with industry peers. Shareasale Under the Stars Party is an Affiliate Summit tradition not to be missed. There were several other affiliate network parties each night to keep everyone going after hours. The Performance Horizon event even included some authentic mariachi music.
